Saturday School Program

New Mission High School (NMHS) is one of twenty “pilot” schools created by the City of Boston to help improve the educational opportunities for young people in Boston Public Schools.

Our mission is to “empower all students to develop into critical thinkers and lifelong learners to better themselves, their futures, and their community. We prepare our students to do well in and for the world. Our core experiences include project-based portfolios, early college pathways, advanced placement coursework, internships, senior research capstones, and essential life skills that support the readiness and agency necessary to thrive in post-secondary pursuits.”

Our strong and dynamic culture of achievement is built on several policies that may differ from traditional public schools. As a result, we ask that all students and families commit to the following expectations when becoming a part of our community.

Saturday School Program

Saturday School is a mandatory Academic Intervention opportunity for students who perform below the New Mission C- minimum. This program serves to ensure that your student matriculates to the next grade and can successfully graduate high school. If your child received a D+ or lower in any of their core academic courses, they are required to attend Saturday School. Teachers and tutors will be available to ensure that your child learns the necessary skills from the first quarter. If your student completes the work assigned, they will receive course credit.
