Homework Academy

New Mission High School (NMHS) is one of twenty “pilot” schools created by the City of Boston to help improve the educational opportunities for young people in Boston Public Schools.

Our mission is to “empower all students to develop into critical thinkers and lifelong learners to better themselves, their futures, and their community. We prepare our students to do well in and for the world. Our core experiences include project-based portfolios, early college pathways, advanced placement coursework, internships, senior research capstones, and essential life skills that support the readiness and agency necessary to thrive in post-secondary pursuits.”

Our strong and dynamic culture of achievement is built on several policies that may differ from traditional public schools. As a result, we ask that all students and families commit to the following expectations when becoming a part of our community.

Homework Academy

New Mission proudly officers Homework Academy to all our students. Homework Academy is an afterschool, twice a week program led by New Mission teachers that provides individualized academic support for students. We expect all students to prioritize attending this program. For students who are not achieving in their classes at 70% or higher, they must attend NMHS Homework Academy. Additionally, students who are recommended by their teacher to attend Homework Academy are required to do so, and families will be notified. Homework Academy is every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30pm-3:30pm.
